Energy, water, consumables, required maintenance, repairs, installation, downtime, and eventual replacement can change the total substantially. No appliance type or brand is universally the cheapest to maintain because households, models, production years, utilities, and local service markets differ.
A better buying process compares exact model numbers against the same ownership checklist. This avoids assuming that every product from a parent brand shares the same parts, service, reliability, or operating cost.
Define maintenance cost before comparing
